How to Request Traffic School

Step-by-Step: Signing Up with the Court

You must pay both the bail amount AND the $54 traffic school administrative fee to the court before enrolling in our course.

  1. Check Your Violation Information Notice If traffic school is pre-approved, you'll see a traffic school bail amount on your notice. If it's not listed, you'll need to request it.
  2. Sign Up & Pay Online (Easiest) Log in to My Court Portal using your OC Pay # and citation number. Pay the total amount, then select "Attend Traffic School." Your OC Pay # is on your Violation Information Notice or can be looked up at occourts.org.
  3. Or Pay by Phone Call (657) 622-8459 (24/7 automated, live agents Mon–Fri 8am–4pm). Have your OC Pay # ready and follow the prompts.
  4. Or Pay by Mail Write a letter with your full name, citation number, and request for traffic school. Include a check or money order for bail + $54 admin fee, payable to "Orange County Clerk of Courts," with your citation number on it. Mail to the address on your Violation Information Notice. DO NOT MAIL CASH.
  5. Or Pay In Person Visit any Orange County Justice Center during business hours (Mon–Fri 8am–4pm). See branch locations below.
  6. Then Start Our Course Free After the court approves and processes your traffic school request, start the Freeway Traffic School online course free on our secure course page. You pay only when you pass. No hidden fees. You have 90 days from the court's payment processing date to complete the course.
